In a positive sign for the economy, the Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) rose to 108.7 in October, up from 99.2 in September. This increase marks a welcome improvement as the holiday shopping season approaches.
The CCI measures consumer sentiment on the economy by surveying expectations about personal financial situations, economic outlook, unemployment, and savings over the next six months. The latest increase reflects a growing optimism among Americans about the economic landscape.
Other indicators, such as wage growth and stable unemployment rates, also suggest that the U.S. economy is on solid ground.
