Matvei Michkov, a 19-year-old hockey player from Russia, recently made his debut at the Philadelphia Flyers’ training camp, where he was already being watched by hopeful fans adorned in his No. 39 jersey. Fans were buzzing about this teen sensation who offers them a glimpse of talent they feel is comparable to another franchise legend, Eric Lindros.

Michkov commented that he’d never seen so many fans wearing his jersey before. Nonetheless, Philadelphia Flyers fans, who haven’t had much to cheer for since 2010, seem sure Michkov will offer a breakthrough for the franchise – and potentially a shot at the playoffs.
