As spring training ramps up in minor league baseball leagues across the country, let’s take a look at the starting schedule for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton RailRiders for this 2022 season.
The ongoing MLB lockout is not expected to affect minor league baseball this season, so teams are preparing for a full-length season from April to October.
According to the team’s official website, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre begins the 2022 season in Syracuse on April 5 and hosts its Opening Day one week later on April 12 against the Norfolk Tides.
The 2022 schedule is comprised of 23 six-game series and two three-game sets. After only playing within Triple-A East’s Northeast Division in 2021, the club will now take on division rivals 102 times and play 42 games against inter-divisional opponents. The season will be 144 games long, evenly split with 72 games at home and 72 games on the road.
