Recent data from Realtor.com shows that the U.S. median listing price in August was $435,000 which is down $15,000 from the record high of $450,000 in June.
In Pennsylvania, the average price of an existing home was $209,794 in August which is significantly less than July’s record high of $219,154.
Locally, in Scranton the average sold home price was $144,000, making it one of the more affordable places to buy a home in the state.
According to these numbers, it may be a good time to purchase a home in Scranton and Northeastern Pennsylvania.
