Colts (2-2-1) at Broncos (2-3), Colts win 12-9
If you missed this game, you didn’t miss much because there wasn’t a single touchdown scored during the whole game, and the game somehow went into overtime. Can’t really call this a defensive matchup since it was more an offensive struggle. When NFL spectators leave a game early, it’s generally because their team is losing badly, but that wasn’t the case Thursday night. Due to the Denver Broncos’ awful performance, Broncos fans opted to flee Empower Field at Mile High immediately before the start of overtime in the Colts’ 12-9 victory. Both Matt Ryan and Russell Wilson finished the game with 2 interceptions a piece including the game clinching interception by Stephon Gilmore thrown by Wilson.
Philadelphia Eagles (4-0) at Arizona Cardinals (2-2), 4:25 p.m.:
In the Valley of the Sun, it’s the customary fight of the birds, with the Eagles taking against the Cardinals. Be wary of the second quarter, when the Eagles, who are suddenly a Super Bowl favorite, exploded, outscoring opponents 85-14 in four games. Miles Sanders became the first Eagles player since LeSean McCoy in 2013 to rush for more than 125 yards and score two touchdowns, and free agent star A.J. Brown is the only player in the league with five or more receptions for 65 yards or more in each game this season, with Jalen Hurts running the same offense for the second year in a row.
New York Jets (1-2) against Pittsburgh Steelers (1-2).,1 p.m:
Pickett’s team is now Pittsburgh, which means he’ll face a series of games that includes, following Buffalo, Tampa Bay, Miami, and Philadelphia. Last week, he became the very first quarterback in history to have multiple running touchdowns in his debut game.15 of the NFL’s 32 teams have a 2-2 record entering the week, so there is still time for a 1-3 club like the Steelers to turn things around.
The Steelers average only 97.3 running yards per game, which won’t be enough against the Bills, who have only played one home game this season. No matter who is at quarterback for the Steelers, this could turn ugly.
