Fuel Costs Decline: Keystone State Joins National Trend

As June begins, the national average for a gallon of gasoline has decreased, driven by tepid demand and a lower oil price. As of June 2, the average cost per gallon in the United States is $3.54, marking a 13-cent drop from one month ago.

Pump prices across Pennsylvania have also edged lower in recent weeks. At an average of $3.73, each gallon is eight cents cheaper than last month.

In the Scranton–Wilkes-Barre–Hazleton area, the cost of gas mirrors the statewide average and has fallen at an identical rate–eight cents over the past month. Meanwhile, gallon prices in East Stroudsburg have landed at $3.65, signaling a 14-cent reduction over the same period.
