For any Pennsylvania residents who wish to celebrate 4th of July there are a number of firework displays and events being held throughout the state. There is the Wawa Welcome America festival, Philadelphia’s July 4th festival which is considered the largest July 4th celebration in America, and one of the largest free festivals in the country. It offers residents and visitors 16 days from June 19th to July 4th of free, family-friendly programming across the city; participants can engage in events focused on arts, culture, diversity, education, wellness, history, and performance. Festival attendees can enjoy free concerts, fireworks, complimentary museum access, Wawa Hoagie Day, and more.
The July 4th Food Truck Festival and Fireworks in the City of Harrisburg will feature 40+ food trucks ranging from stuffed pretzels, gigantic lobster rolls, to fried Oreos, along with two live music stages with performances by local musicians and the US Air National Guard Band of the Northeast, a wine/beer garden, free activities for children and one of the largest fireworks displays in Central Pennsylvania. The event will take place from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Riverfront Park.
July4York, sponsored by Traditions Bank, allows the whole family to enjoy a hot air balloon ride, and a roster of Americana music. Participants can also acquire tickets to see the Revolution’s matchup against the rival Lancaster Barnstormers at the PeoplesBank Park. Children can also enjoy inflatables, lawn games, and a fireworks show presented by Glatfelter Insurance Group that will launch from both outside the ballpark from Small Athletic Field and center field of the ballpark resulting in a spectacular display of pyrotechnics. Both the inside-the-park show and Small Field display will be visible to fans inside the ballpark who attend the July 4 game and concert.
For the 4th of July history buffs, there is the Fort Pitt Museum. Participants help raise a 36-foot garrison American flag alongside scouts and colonial reenactors who recreate 18th-century life at the Forks of the Ohio River, enjoy historical demonstrations and performances of colonial, military music, and enjoy a performance by the The Yinzer Singers who will be singing the national anthem.
There are even more events for residents of Luzerne County to look forward to if they are interested in celebrating this weekend.
