Pennsylvania is getting around $172 million in federal funding over five years dedicated to expanding electric charging infrastructure across the state. The investment begins in FY 2022 with around $25.4 million. From FY 2023 to FY 2026, Pennsylvania will get $35.6 million each fiscal year.

This investment is part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Justice40 Initiative. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, this initiative will “confront and address decades of underinvestment in disadvantaged communities” and “will bring resources to communities most impacted by climate change, pollution, and environmental hazards.”
